We recommend storing Black Walnut nut meat in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a year. Alternatively, you may freeze them for a year or more. Following these recommendations will help your Black Walnuts stay fresh.
Here at Studio 506, we do our best to remove all shells from the nut meat. They go through three stages after being cracked to ensure we provide you with a shell free product, but sometimes they get past us. Because of this, we recommend checking through your purchase to make sure one didn’t get past us. There’s nothing worse than biting a shell.
Less washing is best. For a new quilt that you use on your bed every day, washing once per year should be sufficient. Tumble dry at a low temperature until it’s slightly damp and air dry. Freshen it up in the summertime by hanging it on a clothesline outside. It is best to store your quilt rolled up so you don't get creases.
